Actors & Actresses
The term 'actor' describes a person who personates a character within a film, a play or similar. Generally men are referred to as 'actors' and women in the same role as 'actresses'. At the height of their fame an actor or actress is a household name, a few decades later they may be completely forgotten, as is the nature of show business. The Probert Encyclopaedia provides an encyclopaedic dictionary of actors, stage and film, past and present, celebrated, remembered and forgotten.
